Tommy Shreve Band - Bon Ton Boogie

Tommy Shreve is a Louisiana musician through and through. Like most of the other musical geniuses coming from this part of the US, he grew up with the regional tradition: rock, blues, soul, country, cajun/zydeco, R & B. His parents' record collection included everything from Bob Wills and Leadbelly to Elvis Presley and Louis Prima. Very flexible, indeed... No wonder Shreve is a guitar player, songwriter, singer and band-leader who epitomizes taste and versatility. Many tours with the likes of Jimmy Buffet, Rockin' Sidney ("My Toot Toot"), cajun music ace Wayne Toups or the one and only Zachary Richard led him around the globe with lots of studio work on the side.
The Tommy Shreve Band has been in existence since 1992 and is a great vehicle for Tommy's own material. The trio plays in a typically laid-back but energetic Louisiana R & B groove with Tommy's guitar work shining brightly. Not without reason has he been dubbed "the cajun Clapton" by a New York critic. There's a little bit of truth in every cliché... On top of this, BON TON BOOGIE features special guest Sonny Landreth on one track. Let the bon ton roulez...
